Update guide
The new SSP experience is a work in progress, which means that there are functionalities we will add later continuously, and that the improved page may work differently in some cases than what you are used to.
To help you decide whether to update your end-users' experience now, we gathered the main differences and the most important information comparing the old and new SSP pages, with special focus on the functionalities yet missing from the new SSP experience. Please examine the following information carefully before you update to the new SSP, to ensure you and your end users have the best experience.

If you are ready to switch to the new SSP, navigate to Settings > Module Settings > Self-Service Portal > General and turn on the new interface under Switch to the new Self-Service Portal.
Can't find a feature in the new SSP?
If you miss any capabilities from the list that prevent you from switching from the old SSP, please take a minute to share your thoughts with us. Open TIP and use the Submit idea button in the top right corner to let us know what else you are looking for.
Features coming soon
The following features are already under development, and you can expect them to become part of the new SSP in the coming months. However, please note that currently they may be incomplete or missing.
Change management
The approval process
We are modernizing the approval processes that managers carry out in the SSP. The interface for change approvals as well as authorization activities will share the new design and look and feel of the new SSP.
The new experience will include the following:
An approval overview
The SSP homepage displaying a section with changes/activities waiting for approval
An easy and convenient way to approve/reject changes/activities
The new SSP will redirect you to the old SSP interface in case the new designs aren't ready yet.
Personal profile
Your personal profile page will be incomplete in the new SSP at the beginning. The following functionalities will come later, and as of now you can only perform them in the old SSP:
Editing your personal profile
Uploading to and downloading files from your personal profile
Viewing branch details
Missing features
The following features are not yet part of the new SSP.

Chat integration with a third-party chat tool
Google Analytics
Redirecting you to the old SSP
You can see the related tiles and buttons on the new SSP to these modules. However, clicking them will navigate you back to the old SSP as of now:

Custom forms and linked external pages
You can't embed custom forms and linked external pages within the new SSP frame. The linked external page will open in its entirety in the browser window/tab.
Search terms
Search terms used in the new SSP aren't stored yet.
SSP designer
You will continue to use the same SSP designer as before, with some limitations.
The main differences in behaviour are the following:
The new SSP designer is no longer a fully WYSIWYG editor, as some things will appear differently in the new SSP:
You can define the order of the homepage tiles, but you can't change the number of tiles per row, which will be dynamic in the new SSP, ensuring optimal display. For the same reason, pure text tiles aren't shown on the homepage either.
The homepage tiles will now appear under Contents.
The browser tab title is displayed next to the logo at the top left.
The title is displayed directly below the hero banner and above any news items, and no longer above the homepage tiles.
If tiles contain different lengths of descriptive text, they may no longer be aligned at the same height on subpages as in the old SSP.

We introduced the changes with the results of the end-user studies we conducted in mind, to optimize the user experience of the SSP. As an application manager, you may have lost some control of how a few elements are displayed, but we consciously decided to go in this direction for a consistent and smooth user experience.
Optimize your displayed images
For the most optimized view of your SSP, we have defined recommendations for the image and graphic dimensions of the new SSP. Our recommendations will help you create the best possible display for your users.

Always consider that images will be cropped to fit, not stretched to fit, so larger content on the images will be cropped on smaller screen sizes.
The hero image is the image that fills the hero banner at the home page, meaning it is the background of the prominent search bar. The new SSP layout is responsive, where:
the smallest rendered width of an image is 268 pixels
the smallest rendered height is 240 pixels
